Team 82855G from STL Robotics is a team of eight enthusiastic members. STL robotics is made up of 60 people in six different teams with an additional 50 members in the robotics club. As leaders of this diverse school robotics community, members of team 82855G have provided assistance for other struggling teams, acted as teachers for programming and hardware aspects of robotics, and ensured the development of a strong, positive community to be formed within the school environment. 82855G has done multiple presentations at elementary schools that focused on promoting STEM courses and careers to the future generation. Our presentations have also allowed kids to gain hands on experience with vex robotics parts, learn simple programming skills, as well as teach ways to get involved in the vex community. STL Robotics is also partnering with a team of students to bring robotics parts and knowledge to Guatemala during a service trip in March to help spread education to the underserved. 82855G also promoted STL robotics to future students during a grade eight parent night, exposing students to Vex Robotics and encouraging them to join the robotics team. Additionally, 82855G has assisted in the formation of the STEM union at our school. This brings together all the STEM related clubs and teams, allowing each club to use its unique skill set to achieve one common goal. This has allowed for STEM awareness to grow within our school community giving us the power to run larger events, and spread our knowledge of STEM with as many people as possible. At STL robotics, we believe that this incredible experience is more than just a competition. We are devoted to spreading this knowledge and experience with our school peers, community youths, fellow teams, and anyone who shares our immense passion for this amazing field. We are team 82855G, and we are proud community leaders. We would like to give special thanks to the schools that allowed us a visit. Visit our Website: stlrobotics.org
