Five seconds remain in the Wisconsin Wausau semifinal round 1-of-2, and 5509A has an orange cube in their intake with one empty low-tower remaining. The opposing robots flock towards the tower in hopes of preventing the score. Despite 5509A’s robot being shoved around frantically, exactly a second before the buzzer blares through the gymnasium, 5509A’s driver, Nathan, reverses the intake and the cube majestically drops into the tower. 5509A goes wild at the climatic finish. Not only have they won the match, but their final score of 113 becomes the second highest combined score by any alliance in the world!
