Being in VEX robotics, for our team, is not just about the competitions, but it’s also about making an impact in our community. Part of us making an impact was hosting a Girl Powered event at our school, where young girls got to participate in several STEM activities, such as using the VEX IQ robots. Events such as these are important because it helps to redefine the face of STEM, to include people of all genders, all races, and all walks of life. For us, VEX is about redefinition, finding yourself through the work and activities that you do.
