I created the “3 Axis Corner Connecter” to fix some common issues when connecting 3 plates together at a corner. Depending on how you do it, the plates may not be on the same level, nuts may not fit together, and it's quite messy and frustrating. This new part makes attaching 3 different plates on 3 different axis easy and painless. The CornerConnecter holds plates together reliably with at least 2 points of contact for each plate and can be used in a variety of different configurations. All you need are plates, screws, and the corner connector. This part would save a lot of time and effort especially when creating bases for robots. I used Autodesk Inventor 2019 to plan, design, and render this part. Making this part gave me the chance to practice my skills I had learned from my Project Lead The Way class, which taught me the basics of inventor and CAD design. I also got to learn some new functions along the way, such as threading. Inventor has been used by our robotics team to find creative solutions to difficult problems. We often use it to model laser cuts for plexiglass. Next school year I will probably be using Inventor in my second year of Project Lead The Way, in robotics, and perhaps in my career.
