1, 4, 6 and 7 wide C-Channels

It may seem simple at first, and it is. These 4 new c-channels could be used in multiple different building senarios and allow a builder to better construct their robot using these varying width c-channels. Currently there are 2,3 and 5 wide c-channel lengths available. Many robots can be constructed by these peices (cut or not). These new channels would allow builders to explore new pathways to build specialized mechanisms for their robot. Also, builders would not need to improvise with awkward combinations of current channels or create sharp edges by spitting 2, 3 and 5 wide c-channels which would not only create more structurally sound robots but in turn would also improve saftey. The single wide c-channel would replace a very common custom part amongst robotics teams: the split 2-wide. This single wide channel would improve structural stability because it offers a 3rd side compared to only 2 in an L-shape. The increased strengh could make stronger, more low-profile 4-bars or create strong bracing for a support tower, all without creating a saw-like surface on the top edge (As seen on a split 2 wide). As for the 4,6 and 7 wide channels, they serve a much wider area of uses. Many different sized custom bases could be created on a 4, 6 or 7 wide c-channel depending on the desired use. Every robotics team could find a place for these peices on their robot that would be optimal over the current 2,3 or 5 wide channels if given the opportunity to use them. These new c-channels complete the gap in the existing c-channel library and would allow teams to create new and adapted mechanisms or bases with proper support and spacing to create more sufficient robots.
