It may not seem like much, but to me, it is what VEX robotics is all about for me. Now I know I should have picked a great image like a picture of the team or something, but digging through the photos, I realized there were a few random pictures like this one. The reason for taking it is not known to me anymore, but I like that because it is for a specific purpose or even something important now. I picked it at random, and it goes back to January 2019 at a competition in Beaufort, South Carolina. It was also when I was part of 9623M in my sophomore year of high school. This image shows our (9623M) robot with the lift raised, some tools on the box we stored the bot in, and the feet of competitors in the background. If I remember correctly, I just got done fixing either a part of the lift or the claw, and I just decided to take a photo for whatever reason. That may sound stupid but, even a picture like this holds significance to me because it brings me back to a moment in time and lets me think about what I have done since then, and reminds me why I like robotics in the first place. The opportunity to build something that can bring you to new places was an idea I liked. I loved problem-solving and going to new places because otherwise, it seemed out of reach or reason. I wish I tried harder back then and I miss being on that team. Now it is 2020 and, a lot has changed unexpectedly due to COVID-19 and changes in my personal life so, I have not been able to help my current team as much as I would like to so, here I am at 5:17 a.m. on a school day writing this in hopes that I do something to help on my last year of high school.
