5. 11900A-Airlines Keeping Us Safe from COVID

    Our STEM Research project is about how airlines are using sensors to protect their passengers from getting COVID.  First, we researched all of the ways that STEM industries use sensors. We thought of airlines because our sponsor is Allegiant Air, and the engineers met with us earlier this year. We focused our research and project around sensors in airlines and how airlines are keeping us safe from COVID. First we researched three airlines, how they use sensors, and how they are protecting us from COVID.  After our research, we came up with a project to learn more about a special kind of sensor, taking your temperature and how location and situation can affect it.  Our hypothesis was "Does taking your temperature in different locations and in different situations affect the results of temperature checks?" We collected data over time, combined our data, and then made some conclusions based upon our hypothesis.  Finally we offered our conclusions and some recommendations to airlines and other industries based on our findings.
