For the challenge I have decided to take apart an old cassette tape recorder (here are some labeled pictures I have taken on the things I saw) https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1222GeOniXcxvgVELbtttJwXBs18oVrYsX4e6lfhfL2o/edit#slide=id.g28dbf03c6da1c830_3 First, I unscrewed the 3 screws on the back pannel and the 2 in the battery pan and then removed the outer rear shell from internals. Next, I was able to remove the front shell from the rest of the internals by unscrewing a few screws underneath the circuit board. I next was able to completely remove the internals and circuit board from the outer frame where I found the following components: counter that tells how long you’ve been talking for, red light that tells you when you’re recording, the motherboard itself, the external speaker, and the device that allows you the tape to have your voice on you’re recording.
