Thank you for all your submissions - Winners will be announced at the National TSA Conference Award Ceremony. 

 

Teams will submit a design notebook along with a 3-minute video explaining how they designed a robot to play VIQC: Rise Above or VRC: Change Up. Demonstrations of physical robots are encouraged but not required.

 

Prizes

This event is part of the 2021 National TSA  Conference. Top teams in this event will receive recognition at the conclusion of the conference.

Eligibility

Teams must be registered on robotevents.com as a TIQC or TVRC team for the 2020-21 season and students on the team must be registered for the 2021 National TSA Conference. Team Registration on robotevents.com is free.

Requirements

Each team is required to submit an electronic Engineering Notebook (can be a scanned copy of a handwritten notebook). This notebook will show the design process for a robot that is designed to play this year’s VIQC: Rise Above or VRC: Change Up.

Each team will also create a maximum 3-minute video explaining their design process and showing what they have prepared as part of their finished design. This could include demonstrating their robot playing the game, different functions of their robot (with or without game objects), or if the team does not have a physical robot, they could show drawings and/or models of their design. Not having a physical robot will not reduce the team’s potential score.

The video must be posted to YouTube, SchoolTube or an equivalent platform. Links to Google Drive or Dropbox are not permitted and will result in disqualification.

Submission Instructions - How to submit your PDF and Video Link

• Click the green Enter Challenge button on the right side of the screen.

• Fill out the submission form

  • Entry Title - Enter your team number

  • User - Leave Blank

  • School/Club - Enter your School/Club

  • Grade Level - Select Middle School or High School

  • Program - Select TIQC or TVRC

  • Team Number - Enter your team number (again).

  • Full description - Leave this blank

• Click Save.

• For PDF

  • Click the blue Files/Images button in the upper right of the screen.

  • Drag/Drop your PDF file into the Upload a File box.

• For Video

  • Click the blue Links/Videos button in the upper right of the screen.

  • Type in the YouTube link URL, Title and Description. 

  • Click Add Link.

• You are done - you will receive an email confirming your entry, which you may edit until the challenge closes.

Judging Information

Teams will be judged based on the REC Foundation Design Award Rubric found here.

The Engineering design notebook uses page 1 of the rubric and the video will use page 2 of the rubric.

• Teamwork and communication points for multiple students participating on a team will not be included to allow for one member teams.

• Respect and courtesy points will not be included due to no direct interaction with the judges.
