My Transformation from a High School Junior without a clue concerning my future to a double major student. As a Junior in High School, I was busy taking SAT and ACT tests to be admitted to college. Mail and emails were flooding in for Universities across the country. I was meeting with our school’s college admissions counselor. I was in the band, Cross Country Team, Technology Student Association, some video production classes, and a few computer science classes, and I was enjoying myself. I seemed to be a student who was always on top of the ball, but I had a secret, I did not know what I wanted do in the career field. I was leaning towards Journalism because of the many video production classes I had taken and excelled at. During the end of my second semester of Junior year our school’s TSA purchased a VEX Robotics Kit. I quickly became involved and became one of the project leaders. I found my passion in the designing and building of the robot and enjoyed the challenge associated with the programming aspect. After weeks on the robot team I knew what I wanted to study in college. I hope to study Engineering and pursue a minor in Computer Science in college. With these tools I know I can find a career that will fit in with my passions. As Confucius stated “Choose a job you love, and you will never have work a day in your life.” Who wants to work anyway, surely not I.
