A Better World By Josiah (Team 3018, Techna PWN) When VEX teams build robots, they may not think of changing the world. But that is exactly what they are doing. When teams compete in local and international VRC tournaments, it might not look like they are preparing to be the next Bill Gates and Neil Armstrongs, but they are. When you watch a team struggle building and redesigning the same concept over and over, finally reaching the perfect design, you might not guess that they will create the next generation of cars, power plants, computers, and space shuttles, but they will. VEX robotics is one of the best programs in the world for getting kids excited about science, math, engineering and technology, and it will be one of the most important agents in the creation of the future. So what does VEX robotics mean to me and so many others? VEX robotics means a rewarding future career, the potential for exciting new technology, and a better world for tomorrow.
