Covid dismantled all other school based robotics teams in Simi Valley besides us. We wanted to eagerly share our robotics skills, knowledge, and resources with local school to support the bringing back of VEX in our community. Peter, a six-year team member of 986A, was unable to participate in the elementary robotics program team due to a lack of resources. Our team wanted to help schools who were under-resourced or eager to create new STEM opportunities. We provided experience and mentorship to elementary and middle schools to give others what Peter didn't have. We wanted to foster diverse thinkers and problem solvers in underserved student population. We are bringing in more creative minds into VEX Robotics and the field of STEM that otherwise would have been forgotten and ignored. In a world of "New Generation", we are bringing out "Nuanced Minds".
