Community voting for this challenge will open at 2pm Central time on February 9th. To place your vote, click on the "View Finalists" button under the "Entries" heading. View the entries using the links in the list of Finalists, and click on the thumbs-up icon on the page for your favorite entry to vote for it. Note that you must be logged into the system to place a vote.

VEX Robotics envisions a world where every student has the opportunity to be inspired by the excitement of hands-on, minds-on STEM learning and the feeling of creating something with technology. VEX IQ, VRC, and VEX U teams give students opportunities to question, tinker, experiment, and play while building valuable skills like communication, collaboration, and time management. Entries for this challenge will inspire students, mentors, and supporters to get involved with the VEX Robotics competition.

Show us what makes you love VEX Robotics, and what might make someone else try it out. Your poster should use a combination of words and images to show the fun and possibilities involved in robotics education and competition. Remember what inspired you to join, or imagine what could inspire a friend or neighbor to join you on a team or as a mentor or supporter.

Be creative and have fun with it!

 

Prizes

After the initial phase of judging has taken place, the TOP TEN (10) finalists will be selected. Community voting will then open up to select the final winner from the ten (10) finalists.

1st: $200 VEX Robotics gift certificate

9 Finalists: $100 VEX Robotics gift certificate

Finalists and winners will be selected at each of the following programs and grade ranges, for a total of five (5) prize packages:

• VIQC Elementary School

• VIQC Middle School

• VRC Middle School

• VRC High School

• VEX U

Eligibility

Teams must be part of a registered VIQC team for the current season.

• This page is for VIQC Elementary School entries only - if you are any other program or grade level, please refer to the Online Challenge Page to find the correct page for your program and grade level.

• Only one entry per team is permitted. However, each team in a multi-team school or club program may submit one entry. For example, teams 123A and 123B could each submit an entry, but team 123A could not submit two entries. Entries must vary in content and presentation to be considered separate entries. 

• Entries submitted in previous years’ Online Challenges are not eligible for submission this year.

Requirements

Rules of the Challenge Think of this as a recruitment poster. Your submission should inspire students, mentors, and supporters to get involved in robotics education and competition through the VEX Robotics programs, and should be created using a combination of words and imagery (photography, drawings, screen captures, etc.). All artwork must either be original or free to use, and include no watermarks. Different posters will focus on different aspects of the VEX Robotics experience to accomplish this goal. Things to keep in mind for a successful submission: Your poster can be created digitally, or created on paper and scanned or photographed Any images used in your poster must be original artwork, in the public domain, or free to use VEX and REC Foundation logos are available in online brand guides if you wish to include them Online layout tools like Canva provide standard-size file templates and free-to-use clipart If you don’t have a digital drawing program, free online options include Inkscape, Krita, Gimp, and Vectr If you want to submit a photo of a non-digital poster, it's best to hang it on a wall in a well-lit room; place the camera at the same height as the poster, hold it very steady, and make sure you're not casting any shadows Feel free to draw, paint, use collage, vector art, pixel art, or paper-craft; all techniques and styles are welcome! Tell us about your poster, and how you created it Technical Details A submission must meet these minimum requirements in order to be judged. Poster and descriptive text are created and produced solely by student team members. It is acceptable for adults to assist with downloading any necessary resources or submitting the project where students may need permission. Format: One image in PDF, JPG, or PNG format (up to 20MB). One PDF document with a title page and brief description of the poster and the design process. Size:  Image should be 18”x24”, with a minimum resolution of 300dpi. Title Page:  Each entry must include a title page that includes Tile of submission Names of students who participated (using first names only is acceptable) Team number  Location of team Poster, text, and artwork must be appropriate for all ages. Upload Instructions Click the green Enter Challenge button on the right side of the screen. Fill out the submission form and type a brief description of your challenge entry in the Full Description box. Click Save. Click the blue Files/Images button in the upper right of the screen. Drag/drop your PDF files into the Upload a File box. Edit the Display Name and file information to include your entry name and team number. Save your edits and click Update on the entry screen.

Judging Information

• Up to 15 points for a poster that inspires students, mentors, and/or supporters to get involved with VEX Robotics

• Up to 15 points for a poster that visually represents one or more facets of involvement in VEX Robotics

• Up to 15 points for high-quality art and good layout

• Up to 15 points for text that adds to the message of the artwork

• Up to 15 points for the clarity of the poster’s message

• Up to 15 points for the creativity of the poster and its theme
