We looked at our team and our sister teams and realized that most people don’t join VEX to build robots, they join to be part of a team. Winning isn’t everything for most teams, they just want to be a part of a tight-knit community of peers. We went with more community-driven and life-enriching prospects to try and convince people to join, like “make new friends” and “learn new skills” and we are much happier with this change.
