Texas Team "What Have You Learned?" Video

VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) teams in the state of Texas are invited to create and submit an original YouTube video to tell the world what they have learned while participating in the VEX Robotics Competition. This online challenge is part of the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation and Texas Workforce Commission's initiative to develop 400 new High School VRC teams and support an additional 100 existing VRC teams.

Teams should focus on issues like team organization, robot construction, lessons you have learned, obstacles you faced, your sponsors, and the importance of robotics. See the "Evaluation Criteria" below for more details.

  • 1st: Texas Team "What Have You Learned?" Video Award, $750 gift certificate and automatic team qualification for the 2014 VRC World Championship if the entrant is part of a registered VRC team
  • 2nd: $500 gift certificate
  • 3rd: $250 gift certificate

  • This challenge is open to any VEX Robotics Competition team registered in Texas for the 2013-2014 season.

  • All team members must appear in the video.
  • Videos must be no more than three minutes long, submitted to YouTube, plus an additional credits section at the end, up to 15 seconds long.
  • At the end of the video, there must be a credits section up to 15 seconds long which includes the name of the entrant or entrants, the VRC team number of the team, and the name of the video, plus any other information the creators want to include (software used, recognition of sponsors, etc.)
  • Videos submitted in previous Online Challenges are not eligible for submission this year.

  • Who are the sponsors who made it possible for your team to participate in the VEX Robotics Competition?
  • Why does your team think it is important that all students have access to robotics programs?
The judges will evaluate each entry on:
  • The entry answers the questions above, and the quality of the responses.
