Team 4073B, the VEX JETS, presents the new exiting VEX Robotics game : Spike Strike! The object of the game is to "unlock" tetrapods and score them in to bowls of different heights. Unlocking is taking a tetrahedron (lock) off a tetrapod (spike). There are 4 bowls for each alliance. Points can also be earned by "flipping" locks. At the end of the match the alliance with the most points wins.

I like the unlocking concept where you've brought the two suggested game objects of the tetrahedron and the tetrapod together to create a new scoring mechanism, and that you can then use the tetrapod to score again in the bowls, allowing robots of all abilities to compete. I think on the whole, this is a very strong game design because it's simple, but still interesting to watch. The animation looks good at the start of the video before the demo match, with a good variety of camera angles and animation effects showing important game features, but the demo match doesn't look as good in comparison as there's only a 2D view of the field following the 3D field used beforehand, so it'd be good if it was more consistent in style. Also, the video looks a bit misshapen from filming some of the animation from the monitor with a camera, so it'd be better if you used free screen capture software such as Hypercam to record segments of animation that cannot be exported directly to video format. Good Luck!robbin847 on 01/14/2015
I feel like this game will be a little hard to keep track of in score. Oh but i love the logo and animation work and decision for a different size field but that might be an issue to make everyone buy new sized fieldsrobbin847 on 01/14/2015
This looks like a cool game but is the animation to scale? because the field looks a bit congested with scoring areas. Also what if red alliance unlocks a spike but the blue alliance takes the spike and scores that?and would flipping have to be put in the color tile?
