Overview
The Promote Award offers a big chance to showcase your VEX IQ Challenge team! Show your creativity and have fun making a video that includes one or more of the following elements:
- Your team working and having fun together in your team meetings or at events
- The impact your team has on your school and/or community, promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and the VEX IQ Challenge
- How you design and build your robot
- Celebrating your team.s learning experiences during the season and/or at events. Your video should focus on how the program benefits the participants, rather than just celebrating the awards and rankings of your team.
- Submissions to this contest are limited to members of a VEX IQ Challenge team, school or club registered for the 2014-2015 season.
- No team may submit more than one entry, but each team in a multi-team school or club program may submit an entry for this online challenge. For example, teams 123A and 123B could each submit a video, but team 123A could not submit two videos.
- Entries submitted in previous Online Challenges are not eligible for submission this year.
These are the minimum requirements for this challenge. The "Evaluation Criteria" below will provide additional guidance on how your project will be judged. Failure to fulfill any of these requirements may result in your entry being disqualified from advancing to Finalist or Winner status.
- Create and post to YouTube an entertaining advertisement or short movie highlighting your team.s participation in the VEX IQ Challenge.
- This video will be up to 90 seconds long, plus up to 15 additional seconds for credits.
- The credits section of your video should come at the end and include the name of the entrant(s), your VEX IQ Challenge team number, and the name of the video.
- No team may submit more than one entry.
- While the student team members must make the decisions and do the work to create and complete this video, some adult assistance may be required to ensure that the production quality is suitable for sharing in an online format.
Judges will select at least ten finalists from the submitted entries and will use community voting results in their choice of finalists. The finalist submissions will then be judged by additional selected professionals, who will determine the winners of the VEX IQ Challenge Promote Award.
