Mission to Mars is a new challenge for the VEX Robotics Competition. Mission To Mars incorporates the key values of STEM into it's design by encouraging teams to learn about and implement math & physics principles into their design process.    Watch the Mission To Mars game animation

My first thought when I saw this game was that a lot of people would probably get injured with plastic cones being thrown at them :) I like the idea of making something out of the game pieces to create something new as that would require the robots to be very precise, as well as having good programming to do it reliably. Also, testing the rockets built by the robots sounds like a good idea, but my main concerns would firstly be the safety of the spectators (you’d need some sort of exclusion zone with a radius at least twice the width of the field to ensure no one gets hurt by the cones), and secondly that it would be unlikely that the pieces would stay together in flight unless they had Velcro or something to hold them in the shape of a rocket. The animation looks good and clearly shows how the game would work, but it would be better if there was more custom camera control to focus in on important parts of the game/match/field as you describe them, as the field only takes up about an eighth of the screen for a lot of the video. Good luck!
