VEX Robotics Photography Challenge
Showcase youth using VEX to explore STEM. Compose a photograph that features one or more students working on a robot, testing, planning or celebrating your VEX team’s accomplishments. Use photography to tell the judges something about your own story of involvement on a competition team, in a classroom, or as a hobbyist working with VEX.
At last year's PA State Championships I got sick and had to go home early. Later that day I was sent this selfie from two of my teammates with a BUILD Award we had won thanks to our almost invisible wiring, which I had done before the competition. Although my wiring was almost soley responsible for our award, I still haven't seen it.
During Indian festivals like Deepavali, Pongal and Thaipusam, "Kolam" are drawn by hand infront of entrances to welcome good fortune and protect the home from evil. These geometric drawings are skillfully drawn in one go without lifting the chalk from the floor. 2 Indian girls, Yaalarasi and Kaviyarasi, used technology to assist in drawing Kolams by using a VEX robot to do the job.
A drawing of Albert Einstein hangs in our robotics meeting space. As we were taking pictures for our notebook, we found Einstein looking at our robot with an approving nod. We use the life lessons of Einstein to define who we are as a team.
1. Follow Your Curiosity “I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.”
2. Perseverance is Priceless “It’s not that I’m so smart; it’s just that I stay with problems longer.”

this photo shows our robotics team working on our robot. The driver is practicing whilst improvement of the engineering of the design is taking place. They are trying to include a throwing mechanism to further the skills of the robot. With tie it is all about multitasking!
At a mere glance, VEX is more than meets the eye. With all the activities to be part of in VEX, no one will be feeling left out. To name a few of the many events taking part in this photo, there is: Stress Testing, Auto Desk Inventor, Programming, Building, Engeineering Notebook, Driving and Online Challenges. This photo was taken to enompass the best and the most enjoyable parts about our VEX robotics program here at Joe Walker Middle School!
Team 7800 (Mechanical Magpies) is a high-school robotics team from St. Colman's Community College. We give students opportunities to experience real-world engineering through competitive robotics and work to spread appreciation of STEM in our community. This photograph shows just how attractive VEX Roboticsis to people. This is our submission for the VEX Robotics Photography Challenge.
Nothing is more important in the VEX IQ challenge than teamwork. With so many pieces of the puzzle to be completed in order to have success, working as a group is crucial. This photo not only shows that VEX truly exemplifies teamwork, but it took teamwork to complete the picture. Believe it or not, it took many tries to figure out how to properly spell the word VEX with our team members.
