Family Ties

What I love about my robotics team is the “family ties” that we created over the time. This is my forth season participating with robotics team. This year I’m in a new school and a new robotics team. At the beginning, it was very difficult for me because I have a very strong relationship with my former team members. I was longing for the same relationship to flourish and it did. Since our first season, my parents got the habit of inviting the team to an after tournament dinner with their family. During dinner, my parents and I will choose one of the team members for our prank. We call for a surprise birthday celebration, order dessert, candles and the staff to sing “Happy Birthday” to my fellow team member knowing that is not his or her birthday. This year we choose Elian Breván Villanueva and everybody enjoyed our prank. We really broke the ice as you can see in our photo.
