VEX Photography Online Challenge

Last season marked the tenth anniversary of the VEX Robotics World Championship, and after so many years of experience, we would love to see exactly what it is that you truly love about the program. Submit a photo that best represents what you love about being involved in robotics. Use photography to tell a complete story with one photograph, focusing on your favorite aspect of VIQC, VRC or VEX U. Compose a photo that conveys an emotion, specifically the feeling you experience when you are doing what you love most.

Together we can

JwhY

I like this image because we started something new, we created a new friend (our robot) with a coach we trust.
This photo was taken in one of the most difficult stages of the year.
It was they who helped me overcome adversities, I could not overcome them without them.
The coach taught me and supported me in several difficult moments and my friend trusted me and waited for me.

I feel 100% charged!
I am surprised at how much they give me, with what little I give them.

Sportsmanship

tenshunn99

Even though we, the red alliance, won the tournament in this match, I appreciated the fact that one of my sister teams decided to congratulate the other alliance. This is one of my favorite things about the VEX robotics competition because even though winning was exhilarating, my alliance partner's sportsmanship made competing and winning all the better.

I wanna be strong

Daini

I chose this image because it was this robot that was growing and evolving to achieve my goals.

This robot is already our friend.

We will continue working together to achieve our desired goals.

Collaboration

tessa

One of the things we love about VEX is that it not only reveals the world of robotics, but it also has a strong human element - one that gives us the opportunity to collaborate and work with students from different schools and make new friends in the process.

Despondant yet Hopeful

mordonez5

Half way through competition and your ranking isn’t high enough. Your robot's not performing, and the autonomous corrections seem endless. You're frustrated but then realize . . .  there's still hope to succeed. Work together and evaluate one mechanical problem at a time. Remember, we aren't perfect so we shouldn't be too hard on ourselves if our robot isn't (yet). VEX Robotics has given me new friendships and the glory of being tournament champions. But what I LOVE the most is how it’s...

Women in Technology

tkhan

The purpose of this image is to enlighten the vast technological community about how excruciatingly important it is for women to be involved in various technological fields. Depicted here is an image of Freshmen Alopa Waje and Tanya Khan representing Hopkinton High School working in the Robotics Classroom on their team robot.

The Spirit of Robotics

2022ATechnoids

Vex Robotics is not about winning. It is about teaching and learning. This photo was taken at our school's Cancer Awareness fundraiser. Our Robotics League set up a booth at the event and taught hundreds of fellow students about robotics. We even learned some stuff from them! As we walked around the event, we could hear students talking about all they had learned, and even sharing their new knowledge with others! This kind of learning-students inspiring others- is what VEX robotics is all about.

The Friendships I built

pansylover2000

This photo shows my friendship with my teammates and other teams. I enjoy the friendships I have built with these people; they understand me and know how to make me laugh. They can calm me down when I’m highly stressed about the robot. This photo is when we won the Cross-Lex competition. We won with Falcon and Virus B.

Alliance practice

Oakbrookrobotics

This photo was taken during one of the alliance practices our team hosted before the VRC SC state championship.  Our team invited several programs from the upstate of South Carolina to partner with us in creating an alliance called WhyNot.  This group consisted of teams 8926, 8926B, 7447A, 7447C, and 29601R.  We enjoyed many very noisy afternoons together preparing for state.  In the end, we ALL qualified for Worlds via the SC state champion alliance and skills rankings!  We had alliance hoodies made for Worlds.  Our alliance continues today as some of...

Reviving young people in Brazil for the robotics...

lucaslira2015

This is a photo registered during an event demonstrating the VEX IQ Robotics platform in São Paulo - Brazil. On this date the event promotes science and technology for young people of the region in a free way so that everyone can have access to the main tools of current STEM education.
The image represents the integration between young people and parents that accompany all the actions of the robot during the simulation. A lively weekend between family and the work of spreading science and technology implemented in the educational process.

Supporting from the Bleachers

Part of the team and the coach support the drive team from the bleachers whilst enjoying each others' company as well. Our main focus in Vex is the experiences we make and people we meet, not about winning or trying to be the best.

The Future of GirlPowered

mpreis01

The day this photo was taken, was a very meaningful day for our team, 8110X, because we visited our local daycare center to introduce kids in our community to the VEX Robotics. By doing this we helped inspire a large classroom of mostly girls, to pursue their interests in STEM. It is important to empower young girls like the ones in our photo, because it can help close a gender gap that currently exists in the STEM career field today. By simply setting up a few activities, we helped them discover the fun in engineering, and their potential in STEM.

VEX Impact

TIPR

He is Alejandro, Co-captain of our team. Everyone who knows him knows and recognizes his personality. He is serious, quiet, reserved and does not smile much. These years that we have spent together in robotics has become very special for me and the team. His personality has loosened in such a way that he smiles more and sees things with greater expectations. Time has created a special kind of connection between us. Robotics has a direct impact on people, not only allows us to develop knowledge and skills, it also helps us develop socially and discover the potential we have.

Documenting My Accomplishments

mcgreger779

My favorite part about robotics is the feeling you get when something you’ve worked so hard on finally works correctly.  Part of robotics is problem-solving – which can take a long time.  When your hard work finally pays off it is extremely validating.  Getting to log the progress in the notebook feels the greatest – like I’m officially documenting my accomplishments!

4.5 Feet of Exhilaration

wyattdjdecker

My name is Wyatt and my friends like to call me “Big W”.  I’m the shortest person on the team, but that doesn’t bring me down.  I daily put my whole body into the jobs of driver and programmer.  Driving is pressurized fun but takes its toll physically.  Programming challenges my thinking and frustrates my entire being from time to time, but is still amazing.  Robotics seems nerdy to many people but I know that it’s not.  Robotics to me is fun, challenging, and energizing.  Robotics brings learning, exhaustion and...
