This year is CMA Secondary School’s third year entering the 2018 REC Foundation Online Challenge: VEX Robotics Competition Promote Award.The theme of this year is “One World, One Dream”. The word “World” represents the world of robotics. All the young people in the world have the one and only dream - to become the champion. VEX Robotics Competition seems a Robotics Olympics Game. We’ve been participating in VEX Robotics Competitions since 2010. At the very beginning, we were just a nobody. All our teammates were boys. They just focused on the techniques of building a functional robot and they did not know how to work with other people. During the presentation, they were afraid of speaking before others.But we knew that that wasn’t enough. We knew that being a champion wasn’t only a dream. We want to get to the VEX Worlds Championships. We want to make our dream come true. So, we are CHANGING. We are stepping out our comfort zone. We are not shy anymore. We can speak in front of the camera, work with other people, and focus on other aspects, such as public relations (sharing our work on Facebook and Instagram), video editing, game strategies, programming and engineering logbooks. In 2015, we finally made our dream come true. This is our first time representing Hong Kong on a global stage. To keep this dream running, we have never worked harder. All teammates are proud of being a representative of Hong Kong, and they even carried on to attend the VEX Worlds Championships in 2016 and 2017 continuously.All changes were made possible because of the VEX Robotics Competitions. Thank you, VEX. VEX Robotics has provided us with ample opportunities to make ourselves better. VEX has inspired us to embrace our passion. VEX has guided us in developing our talents.
