I am a new member of my team, “Let’s Go Bots Today!” So far, my experience in this team and community is amazing. We do not consider each other as “team members,” “rivals,” or “just friends.” We consider everyone as a family. We help each other, we care for each other, and most importantly, we all have fun whilst we all try to achieve our goals. Each team has their own goals but, we work together to achieve them whenever we need each other’s help. I could say that I am very comfortable with this community. Everybody is supportive of one another. I also would like to say that my teacher, Ms. Jablon, is amazing. She is also very supportive of us and encourages us.                 It’s reflected in my team’s approach because our team is mostly made of girls. We all discuss and agree on something while working. We also respect each other and each other’s opinions. Our team is pretty new so we welcome everybody else that is new. They can learn from every experience as we do. We can also learn from our peers that have more experience than us. Our team has had a little taste in everything. For example, designing, coming up with ideas, and building. We are all good at building and compromising. If there is a problem, we can assess the situation and come up with ways to fix it. We can also come up with strategies to win at competitions. Through trying everything, we have learned what we are skilled at, and what we need to work on. Our diversity in perspectives and point of views allows us to come up with different designs, different strategies, and different solutions to issues we face. Having a diverse perspective in our team comes in very useful whenever we run into any problems. If we ever disagree with one another, someone else can explain the situation to them and see where the other member is coming from. All these factors help us succeed. My team’s STEM model is our teacher, Ms. Jablon. She has told us anecdotes of how she went to university and graduated. She is more than qualified to teach us and guide us to success. Ms. Jablon inspires us to motivate each other, work with each other, help each other, learn from each other, to have good sportsmanship, and most importantly, to have fun.
