Introduction The purpose of this design is to better fix the V5 motors. According to the design of the vehicle, the motors are often installed where there lacks fixed surfaces. The motor frame we designed can be installed on the outside of the motor, and the frame itself has a number of holes that can be used to connect it with the main structure of the robots, so it could provide enough fixing points for a motor when the motor itself cannot be fixed due to the structure. The inner wall of the motor frame fits the appearance of the V5 motors perfectly, which ensures that the motors have no room for vibration after being settled in the motor frames. On the outside of the motor fixture, there are fixed surfaces with up to thirteen standard holes, which help fix the motors when they could not be directly fixed. On the other hand, in order to facilitate disassembling and enhance the applicability, we have designed the fixing device to be detachable. When only one side is needed, you can just install half of it to fix the motors. This design first imports the 3D model of V5 motor downloaded from the official website, and makes the structure of the bracket according to its appearance, so that it can fit perfectly with the motor. Holes are then punched in the top row at the same spacing as the holes in the existing aluminum, and shrapnel is added to snap the two halves together. On top of that, we fine-tuned the thickness of the model so that we could make better use of it. Conclusion In this project, we learned how to design the parts we want according to our own problems, how to make a 3D model for Fusion360, and how to turn our ideas into usable parts. I think we'll be using 3D design software in the future because it's so versatile, and it can turn novel ideas in our heads into reality. The advent of 3D printing solves many engineering problems because it is additive processing. As a competitive team, we can use 3D design software to make some problems that we cannot solve with existing tools, and make our own parts to solve these problems easily. Learning 3D design software is very helpful for my career. It allows me to create what I want. It's much easier to design something than it is to find something that completely meets your needs.
