For a long time, the Purdue ACM SIGBots website was unmaintained. Prospective members would visit our site, and frequently became confused when faced with outdated, sometimes even contradictory information. Over the summer, we decided to revamp and revitalize the site. It was rewritten almost entirely from the ground up. The outmoded Wix website template was replaced with a more modern one that works with the Hugo static website framework, modified to fit our organization's styleguide. One thing that was lacking from the old website was a place with which to show off innovative projects we've done. The new site remedies this, and puts a greater focus on our club's past and ongoing efforts. The new site also makes it simpler for prospective donors to sponsor the organization, and for prospective members to find out how to get involved. Behind the scenes, the new version of our website is much easier to maintain and add content than the previous version was. The source code is hosted in a Git repository on an organization server, and documentation was added to make it as painless as possible for new members to take over the project.
